The Enterprising Worcestershire Business Coaching programme offers fully funded, tailored support to help small businesses build confidence, strengthen performance and achieve sustainable growth.
Delivered by Oxford Innovation Advice on behalf of Worcestershire County Council, this programme provides personalised one-to-one coaching designed around your business goals, challenges and ambitions.
Whether you’re looking to increase sales, improve profitability, or develop your leadership skills, our local expert advisers will work with you to turn your ambitions into clear, achievable actions.
What support is available?
Through the programme, businesses receive practical support designed to deliver real outcomes and long-term value.
Eligible businesses can access between 4 and 10 hours of fully funded one-to-one coaching, delivered over a period of up to 6 months.
Support is tailored to your needs and may include:
- Business diagnostics and growth planning
- Leadership and strategic development
- Sales and marketing support
- Financial planning and performance improvement
- Operational efficiency and scaling
- Implementation support to help put plans into action
Coaching is delivered flexibly through a mix of online and face-to-face sessions, helping you access support in a way that works for your business.
The process
How the programme works
1. Understanding your business
You will begin by working with a dedicated adviser to explore your business in more detail. This stage helps identify where you are now, where you want to go and what opportunities or barriers may be shaping your next steps.
Together, you will:
- Assess your current business position
- Identify strengths, challenges and growth opportunities
- Define your priorities
- Create a clear action plan with measurable goals
2. Tailored coaching, support and progress
Once your priorities have been agreed, you will receive focused coaching aligned to your business needs, helping you put plans into action and make meaningful progress.
The coaching is designed to be responsive and relevant, helping you focus on the areas that matter most to your business. Throughout the programme, support is geared towards delivering practical outcomes, which can include:
- Increased revenue or profitability
- Improved productivity or efficiency
- Greater confidence in business planning and leadership
- Job creation or readiness for future growth
- Stronger foundations for investment or expansion
Businesses may also benefit from access to specialist expertise, workshops, webinars and peer learning opportunities where appropriate.
Funding and additional support
Enterprising Worcestershire Business Coaching is funded through the Enterprising Worcestershire Programme, part of the Open for Business Fund, and delivered by Worcestershire County Council in partnership with local district councils.
Alongside coaching support, some businesses may also be able to access grant funding to support eligible growth projects.
This creates an opportunity for businesses not only to develop stronger plans, but also to take practical steps towards implementation.
Who is eligible?
To take part, your business must:
- Only employ up to 4 people - including sole traders
- Be based in Worcestershire
- Have been trading for at least 12 months
- Be able to demonstrate how the support will benefit your business
The programme is designed for both early-stage and established small businesses that are ready to grow.
